Ha! She's not. She's gorgeous, right? Thank God, this week. She has been VILE. HORRIBLE. BUT we won't focus on the past, will we? She was great yesterday, we had a nice day, mostly it was just the two of us. We also didn't go anywhere, which helps. I am about to take Maria and her to the store, God only knows what will happen, but I'll probably have to leave in shame, but what can you do? I have one that starts demanding to go somewhere upon waking, and one that is guaranteed to be horrible and awful out in public. This is what the experts call a paradox, I guess.

Such a sweet face. It's a good thing they are cute right?
You love your children so very fiercely and then they behave so very badly and the things that run through your head seem so very un-motherly. I tell my daughter, who is an excellent mom, that every time one of her children acts up, they are doing their job of testing their limits in the world and within the family structure. Every time she consistently responds with pertinent consequences and succinctly explains the rules, she is doing her job as a mom. No name calling or finger pointing, just consistency. Of course, when one has a number of children, all with similarities, but all with innate and individual personalities, it is hard to plan activities that will work for all. Oftentimes, one ends up not doing something one wants or needs to do in order to deal with certain behaviors which is a royal pain in the you know what. It does get better and they do grow up well, just with lots of hard work and sacrifice. I have 5 beautiful, responsible grown-up daughters.
