Six Weeks

She is wearing fish and in the fish swing, cute, right? She is actually six weeks and one day in this picture but I don't care. She has had what could only be called her WORST WEEK EVER so I have been holding her a lot and I can't get a good picture of her there. She is super fussy and I hope it starts to get better soon. Last night she was fussy until like 10:00 or something and by then we are both just beat! It's hard to fight the older two all day and then fight Veronica all night. In GOOD news, she did sleep in her bassinet last night - from 10:30 til 1:00ish? I think? I swear I'm going to remember what time things happen but I'm so tired I can't. I didn't even watch any tv or anything last night and that is usually my favorite part of being up - that I get to watch what I want and can hear it. But I'm too tired to understand anything. Anyway, maybe six weeks will be a good turnaround time for her. I hope.

Slung

Ooh she is a fussy thing! I had her in the Bjorn today to work out and it was halfway over before she fell asleep. Up until that point I was working out with her waah-ing right in my face. She had a good night last night, though, and slept in her bassinet from 10-2 and 3:30-6:30. So not bad. But so grumpy!

The Devil Leaving Her

That's what our priest said was happening. Ha, I hope so.

Moira and Aidan

My niece (and goddaughter) and my nephew. Aidan is the one who took all the other pictures, so thanks Aidan!

Shhhh!

I kept saying shhh to her, for all the good it did. She won't take a nuk, so I was trying my finger. My SIL looked at me at one point and said, knowingly, "that's not what she wants". And it wasn't. But I couldn't nurse her, I kept thinking we were going to start and I thought she'd be worse if I started her and then stopped her. I suppose in a few years it will be a funny story? Maybe?

Does she look like she's making an OK sign?

She wasn't. Scream, scream, scream. It was nice and cool in the church but I was sweating like a whore in it because I was so ... I was moving her around a lot, shifting her position, to see if anything would help. She fell asleep like a sweet thing in her sling during Mass and then I had to take her out and dress her and hoo boy! was she mad. Poor baby. She was the worst of the three!

Another Good One

Our priest was sort of SHOUTING the prayers over Veronica. Sheesh.

OK

This is obviously a bad picture, but it captures EXACTLY how it all went at the baptism. EXACTLY.

God Bless Veronica

... indeed. I sort of hate this cake but I didn't get it together to order a nice sweet white one with a cross on it. Really we were lucky to get it together enough to have her baptized at all, I guess.

Shame

This is her first bath since the hospital, really. That is terrible, right? But for the longest time she was sleeping forever and here recently she has gotten so mean. She has been very VERY grumpy for a few days here so I figured maybe a bath would help. She's sleeping now, in my sling, so maybe it helped. But the minute I lay her down, she'll be up screaming again. I hate to feel so ill about her but really - I hold her from 2:00 - 7:00 and then I have to hold her the rest of the day too? Ugh.

But So Cute!

I can't stay mad at her.

One Month

She is really one month and one day old in this. We have been a wreck around here this weekend - the camera was broken, then the keyboard, ugh. Everything is working now. She is INCREDIBLY fussy today, she has been awake all morning, basically. Ugh again. She was fussy in the night too, awake for like two hours, which I hate and despise.

Four Weeks Plus One

I don't think she looks like the others, at all! She definitely looks the most like Mike out of all of them, so far. She is still sick and it's a total drag but what can you do? Her doctor said it could last two weeks. Maria and Anthony are better, so I'm hoping she will follow. She slept for two stretches in her nursery (closet) last night, which is an improvement on the last week or so.

Four Weeks

The cable on my camera is broken (from being jerked around by these CHILDREN) so I don't have a picture to put up but Veronica is four weeks today. She weighed 9 pounds, 15 ounces at the doctor today, which makes me so happy. Until they get weighed, it just feels like nursing into oblivion for no reason. I see her so much I can't tell if she is bigger or what, although she is growing into her newborn clothes. The doctor also said that she is fine, her cold is only in her head and not her chest or anything. He also said I could just nurse her, change her diaper, lay her down and let her fuss. Ha. I think one month is a little young for that, I told him, although I know he disagrees. I don't care - I DO think it's too young and besides, where are we supposed to let her scream away? 10 feet from us? We have to sleep, too.

This Weekend

In the bouncy seat. Veronica has had some fussy early evenings, and some fussy afternoons and some fussy mornings. She still has a cold. Who knows what kind of baby she will be? She's sneezy, so far. She has still been about the same at night, that is, she doesn't like to lie down all night and prefers to sleep on me with me in the chair.

Ugh

I look terrible all the time but I think well I sleep in a chair! How SHOULD I look? At least the chair is inside the house.

Comparison

Here's Maria at three weeks. To me they look different, sometimes.

Three Weeks

Mike took these. I had to retouch them a little because of her runny nose. Ugh. I can't believe she has a cold already and she has not even left the house, hardly!

Veronica has a little cold, this is seriously the first time her eyes have been open today.

Swinging

They all like this swing, thank God. I am happy to report that V was not fussy at all last night. I still spent a fair amount of time in the chair overnight but at least she was happy and I didn't have to get up and rock her. I am a lazybones but that's the part I really hate, worse than the crying, is the *constant movement* that's expected of me. She's in an outfit that I borrowed from my friend Mary, it's super soft and V is filing it out better this week than last, so I guess she is getting bigger.

Waah

Oh, Veronica. She has taken a turn here the last two nights where she has been VERY fussy, much like two OTHER children I have birthed. I am hoping that it is a short lived phase because I truly don't know if I have it in me to get through another colicky, fussy baby. She looks GIGANTIC in this picture doesn't she? But she is still teensy, tiny, barely into her newborn clothes. Pray for us, that tonight goes better.
